Our Sunday School teacher called this morning to see if she could drop something off. This is what she dropped off. A little teacher's bag of goodies. We have 6 teachers (including me) in our Sunday school class. So Mrs. Harvine made these little goodie bags for us. I noticed on Sunday she was asking the room numbers for the teachers. 4 of the teachers work at Parkview.

She wrote a little note saying that they were praying for our school year and wrote this verse: Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." It's good to be recognized as a teacher and to get a little encouragement. Moms of so many little ones get worn out easily (or at least I do)...so it's good to get a little pick me up. She also brought an extra bag of cookies for the kids so I don't necessarily have to share! LOL!
Thanks Mrs. Harvine for thinking of me!

The settings weren't right for this one, but it was just too stinkin' cute! Luke told me that Micah was in the Tonka truck and I had to take a picture...(he's always telling me to get my camera). So he grabbed it and went and took a bunch of her in the truck...problem was the lens kept fogging up in the humidity. So I took a couple of more and this was just too cute...

I've been trying to attempt this tip from Scott Bourne all week: "Tips for Panning Photography"

The first day, Tuesday, I tried it came out like this...so I gave up because it was too hot!

After seeing Kristal's awesome aperture shot...I decided to try again on Friday. Most looked normal or like this...

But when I was loading the pictures on my computer, I happened to see this one that looks pretty close to the example, in my opinion. I think I just got lucky in capturing it!

So the point is to get out there and try different settings...and have fun!

Classes and Projects

I'm currently participating in these projects:

I've taken these classes taught by Tracy at Shots from the Heart:

About My Photography

Why I chose the name Eye Candi Photography?

Well with my name being Candi, I wanted to choose a play on that. Here's the definition:

eye candy
n. Informal
Someone or something that is visually attractive or pleasing to look at.

My equipment

Thanks to my wonderful hubby...I now use a Nikon D90 with kit lens (AF-S Dx Nikkor 18-105 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR).

Previously I only used this:

Pentax K110 DSLR
with kit lens

I got this DSLR because I wanted to be able to take pictures of my kids faster and I found a good deal on it on ebay. However, I became more interested in photography after Tracy started the 365 Project. Then I took her Mommytography Class and learned more about my camera after finally READING THE MANUAL. This is when I realized that my camera was lacking in some aspects so I'm longing for a new one that has those features. Until then I'm trying my best to take better pictures and fix those that aren't so good with the concepts that I learned in Tracy's Photoshop class.

365-228

I'm finally posting some new stuff. I just haven't been motivated to take any pictures. I need some new scenery (aka the beach!). One day this week I did go outside with my kids and tried to take some on manual. I got the settings are messed up so the ones of the kids were all dark. However, I did read this post on MCP Actions: 10 Sure Fire Tips for Achieving Amazing Sun Burst Style Sun Flare so I decided to try it while I was outside.

Tracy, don't worry! I wasn't looking into the lens while I took it.

Look Micah likes jewelry too!
Should I switch arms?
How does it look?

What do you think?

It also makes a good teething ring

or just plain fun to play with!
